Maureen Rousseau pursued her passion to become an artist following retirement in 2013. Moving to Hot Springs Village, AR afforded her many opportunities to engage in classes, workshops, and demos in the village and the surrounding areas of central Arkansas, studying under a variety of local and national artists.
Her first love is alcohol ink, which she has learned to control and produce amazing vivid paintings. She also studies Chinese Brush Watercolor and enjoys painting in watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, as well as experimental mediums and of course, mixed media.
With a passion for endangered species and environments, Maureen belongs to an online FB group… A.B.U.N. (Artists and Biologists Unite for Nature) where she paints for projects all over the world. The groups artwork us used in campaigns to raise awareness for the endangered of planet Earth.
She is an award winning artist and belongs to severall art clubs and societies. She was selected in 2017 to be a member of The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (ACNMWA) advocates for the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C., and supports and promotes the creative work of Arkansas women artists.
